About Me
I am a Research Fellow in NUS. I received his B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, India in 2004 and my PhD from National University of Singapore in 2014. I worked as part of Communication and Internet Research group. My PhD supervisor is Prof Chan Mun Choon. I work on research problems related to data retrieval in constrained mobile networks and audio and sensor applications in smart devices. During my tenure in NUS, I have been part of the following research groups:
Research Interest
Availability of sensors on the multitude of ubiquitously available smart devices has opened up the possibility of building useful collaborative and crowd-sourced applications which operate in dynamic and infrastructure-less environments. My research involves design and development of such low cost, easily deployable applications for people analytics, traffic planning, infotainment and surveillance. My previous and ongoing work include: (1) Filtering noise in sensor-enriched User Generated Content (UGC) uploaded by resource constrained smart devices, and association of related content to improve user experience. (2) Distributed crowd estimation using infrastructure-less, low-power sensor modality like audio tones generated by smart devices (3) Head and Torso position estimation using low-cost, low-power multiple sensor modalities.Publications
